Tomato Basil Soup

28-oz can crushed tomatoes
4 c tomato juice

Simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes. Puree in small batches with 14 basil leaves.

Add:
1 c heavy cream
1/4 lb unsalted butter
salt and pepper, to taste

Heat through, but don't boil.
